Here in france april’s Fool Day is represented by a fish , and they call it “poisson d’avril” and literally poisson d’avril means ” april’s fool!”. They say the whole idea of it being represented by a fish is a bit blurry. In France at the beginning of the of the XX century, people used to exchange and send postcards decorated whit fishes in pretty complex and colorful designs.
It is mostly enjoyed by small children in school today , they would be running around to see if the catch a friend to pin the fish into behind they re backs
So thats the origin behind the photo below. Yesterday we got invited to dinner, so of course i had to do a “poisson d’avril” when our host opened the door we greeted him with and empty bottle of wine, and gave him later a full one whit the small fish attached to it 😉
